WMS Friday Forecast
August 19, 2022
Dear WMS Parents-
I'm not sure I have ever had a start of the school year that has gone as well as this one has. Our kids walked in calm and relaxed. Our transition activities for our 6th graders seemed to have been effective. And our families have been highly supportive as we move towards "getting back to normal".
One of the initiatives we have taken this year is to re-teach a whole bunch of skills that our kids seemed to have lost during the last two school years with Covid. We are in the middle of teaching "20 Days to the RedHawk Way". This series of lessons taught, retaught, and reinforced expectations for our students across every setting- including classrooms, cafeteria, bathrooms, hallways, classes with subs, outdoor ed, etc…
We are highly impressed with how our students have responded to these short lessons. While there will be bumps along the way, we are confident that our students are learning and growing at Wredling!
Enjoy your weekend!
Please Complete Your Registration!
We still have 68 Families that have not completed the 2022-2023 Annual Update Form when registering their student for this current school year.
The form can be found by clicking THIS LINK. Click the red box "Annual Student Registration Update Form" and log in with your HAC credentials. BE SURE TO CLICK SUBMIT WHEN YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE FORM. If you have more than one student, you can toggle between your students at the upper right side of the form.
If you are unsure that you have completed this form, please contact Lucy Johnson at 331-228-5129 or email@example.com
We started monitoring IDs this week and students generally did a good job! Replacements cost $5 and replacement fees can add up quickly, we give students two free IDs per year. We work with students to place their ID in their lockers or backpacks at the end of the week. Please help your child remember each Monday morning to have their ID ready to go.
Students should have received a temporary ID on the first or second day of school. After about 2 weeks they will get their permanent ID which should remain in good condition without any marking or damage. Some kids will scratch off their name or face. We need the faces to be clearly visible.
New Attendance Codes
We have new attendance codes for the 2022-2023 school year.
Here is a breakdown of the most used attendance codes and what they mean. Please use this chart to better understand your students' attendance record.

FINDING THE RIGHT PERSON AT WMS
Here is a list of all of our Team Leaders, Admin, and Student Support Team members who will support your child. Please keep this link handy for future reference.
You can also use our Staff directory located on the right hand side of the Wredling Website.
In general, if your child needs support, start with the teacher and then the team leader. If you still need help, move to the Assistant Principals (academics) or Student Support Coordinators (Deans) (behavioral).
If you email Tim Loversky (principal) he may forward your email to the right person to handle the issue. Please do not be offended when he does this.
