New Quarantine Guidelines
Hamilton County Public Health (HCPH) has officially adopted new Ohio Department of Health K-12 quarantine guidelines. Effective November 2, 2021, Sycamore Community Schools will begin implementing these “Mask-To-Stay/Test-To-Play” guidelines. The guidelines do not apply to preschool. An email has been sent home to all families and staff with more details. You can also click here for more information.
Vaccination Available for Children 5-11
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is now recommending the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 to 11 years old. Beginning today, local health providers are already providing vaccinations for this age group.
Sycamore Community Schools has contacted Hamilton County Public Health (HCPH) to set up voluntary vaccination clinics for families of students ages 5-11 who chose to have their child vaccinated. However, HCPH has not yet provided dates/times for clinics in our district. They are still determining the amount of vaccine that will be available. As soon as we have finalized information, we will share it with families.
Meantime, families who wish to have their children vaccinated have several options available to them including:
Cincinnati Children’s: Walk-ins are welcome, or you can make appointments at one of three vaccine clinic locations:
Burnet Campus | Wednesdays, 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm, and Saturdays, 8 am – 11:30 am
Liberty Campus | Mondays and Thursdays, 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Green Township Neighborhood Location | Tuesdays, 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm
UC Health: UC is scheduling appointments at 513-584-DOSE or via UC MyChart.
Doses may also be available at your local Walgreens, CVS, and Meijer.
Check with your child’s pediatrician for additional availability.
Learn More About Our Curriculum Review
Sycamore Community Schools is currently engaged in the first year of implementation of our new strategic plan to empower all learners to reach their full potential in a globally competitive world. An important goal of this plan is to enhance academic achievement.
To support this goal, the district has partnered with Education Elements to conduct a thorough curriculum review to gain an understanding of current curriculum resources and how those resources impact instruction and student learning. The complete curriculum review will provide information regarding alignment and identify areas of need and growth.
We would like to invite families to join us to learn more about the curriculum review and its findings. These virtual, informational sessions will be led by representatives from Education Elements:
- November 4 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. https://edelements.zoom.us/j/99368818621
- November 5 from 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. https://edelements.zoom.us/j/99368818621
A recording of sessions will be available on the district website.
