Room 204 Monthly Newsletter
We are officially done with the first week of third grade! It was a fabulous week full of procedures and learning. I have called or tried to call at least one family member per student. If I didn't get to talk with you and you have something you want to discuss, please call me or let me know a good time I can call you!
The rest of August will fly by before we know it. Let's take this time to get to know each other, build a strong classroom community, and settle into our new routines. Thank you so much for all the classroom supplies that you sent! We should be set for the year! It's going to be a fantastic year!
Please let me know if you have any questions and I will see you soon!
Writing: We will be introducing the constructed response model called RACE (Restate, Answer, Cite evidence, Explain). We will practice using the book "The Recess Queen".
Reading: We will add our 2nd Daily 5 this week--Work on Writing! We will also read some really good books called "The Boy Who Loved Words" and "Richard Wright and the Library Card".
Social Studies: We will talk about our hopes and dreams for 3rd grade, create class rules and norms, and read the book "My Librarian is a Camel".
