November is Native American Heritage Month
National Native American Heritage Month is celebrated each year in November. It is a time to celebrate the traditions, languages and stories of Native American, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and affiliated Island communities and ensure their rich histories and contributions continue to thrive with each passing generation. This November and every month, we celebrate the culture and heritage of these remarkable Americans who deeply enrich the quality and character of our Nation. We celebrate Indian Country with its remarkable diversity of American Indian and Alaska Native cultures and peoples.

Students can leave school with a very discreet bag of food or personal care items to take home to their family-for free. There are no restrictions on who can use this or how many times.

- Sabrina Cook is the President of the Southeast Division of Student Councils, and she just successfully ran the conference for all the Student Councils in the area this past week. She did a great job organizing and leading the entire conference. We look forward to the spring, when Red Wing will host the "SED" conference. -Mrs. Roschen
- RWHS Gymnasts: Great first week! -Coach Kristin
- Office Helpers: Christiaan Koehler, Ava Johnson, Grace Handwerk, Sabrina Cook, Jasper Babb, and Olivia Mercado: I'm so grateful for each of you. You all come with a positive attitude and a willingness to help in whatever way each day. Those are great qualities to have in life! Thank you for all your hard work! -Mrs. Borgschatz
- High school student body: I was VERY impressed with the student body behavior today :). Even during the longer moment of silence they were all so totally respectful. Wonderful to experience. Thank you from Mr. Bender on behalf of all the vets who were there.
- Silas Perau, Miley Bru, Samantha Voth, Cody Roschen, Ulises Rivera Garcia, Sabrina Cook: These students attended the Southeast Division of Student Councils conference to learn about ways they can help out the school and community. They attended this conference to improve their leadership skills, and we appreciated their dedication in attending this conference when RWHS students had the day off! - Ms. Roschen and Mr. Graves
- Student Helpers for Veterans Day: Wow! We have so many amazing students in this building! "Thank you" to all of the students who showed up the night before and day of to help make our ceremony move smoothly and our Veterans feel special. We really can't do this without all the help from YOU! -Mrs. Hanson
- Dylan Thompson: Ms. Brunkhorst was gone due to her grandfather passing away, and when she returned, Dylan was the only student in our 3 classes that stopped and told her that he was sorry for her loss. It was so sweet and made Ms. Brunkhorst feel so valued. Dylan is such a great kid all around, but this small act, proved it even more! -Stacy Schultz
- Great job Mr. Hand and students! Congratulations to RWHS students who competed successfully at the Cansayapi Dakota Language Bowl! Red Wing had THREE competing teams this year, all first and second year learners, and they brought home two 4th places and one 2nd place!
