Marching Band Updates
Thank You
Last week was action packed! The students showed off their hard work at the Thursday night family preview. Mr. Ellinger thrilled the crowd with his over-the-top voice over. Thank you for that entertaining last run of the practice! Thanks to Denise Holaday and Becky Richardson for providing treats to the seniors that night.
The first batch of Spirit Buttons were delivered to parents and students. There were over 200 buttons created by Karen Smith and family. Every student received a free button Thursday night. Thanks Karen for doing buttons!
How can the marching band prepare for a performance without a good meal? Thank you Danelle Grimes and the food volunteers for providing a delicious dinner and a nice cake for the seniors. Thanks to Christie and Chris Chandler from the Spirit Committee for the music during the meal and the cheers in the stands later.
Senior Night was moved up by a month to safeguard from cancellation. This forced our team to accelerate planning. Here are the key people that deserve credit: Michelle Johnson – Senior banners and Senior Night program; Photographers – Jennifer Frost, Sherry Ohl and April Keene. Jessica Lee was our point of contact with athletics and coordinated programs and tickets for senior parents. Carrie Brewer Thomas was the lead for senior night. She procured the flowers from a new vendor and they were perfect. She pulled off the monster task of lining up band families in the correct order. Thanks to the booster board for multiple actions behind the scenes. Thanks to everyone not mentioned by name, you are the star players of our team. Together we accomplish great things..

Family Night at the Stadium
Please join us on Thursday, September 10 at 8:00pm for "Family Night at the Stadium". This is a great opportunity for families that are not able to attend the football games to see the show performed. This informal show happens every Thursday night during practices and is open to band families. Please remember to wear a mask and observe physical distancing while sitting in the stands like any normal event. Do not sit on the red tape and stay together as a family.
