HCR's Health Update

December 20, 2021

Dear Highcroft Ridge Community,

We wanted you to be aware that Highcroft Ridge Elementary is currently experiencing a significant increase in positive cases of COVID-19. As of this afternoon, we now have twenty-two students and staff who are currently positive.

We realize that many people may be planning to travel or gather with relatives during the holiday season. As we complete the remainder of this week, it will be even more important to monitor your child daily for any signs or symptoms.

  • If your student is feeling ill or has any symptoms of COVID-19, please do not send them to school.

  • Please notify us of your child's symptoms, and call your health care provider for advice on managing illness.

  • If your child was exposed to one of the positive cases of COVID-19 at school, we have already notified you.

COVID-19 symptoms may include:

  • Fever or chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Headache

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • Congestion or runny nose

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Diarrhea

You may want to consider having your child tested before any holiday gatherings. You can find information about public COVID-19 testing locations here.

Sincerely,

Diane Brown, Director of Health Services
