Hello Early Learning families,
I hope this Preschool Press finds your family well. Our preschool families had a wonderful time reading, crafting and snacking at our recent “Snuggle Up and Read” event this past month. We are already planning for future events to enjoy time together and show our youngest learners the importance of a home and school connection. Watch Class Dojo for more information regarding a Family Reading Night in March..
With the many viruses and illnesses that accompany the winter months, please encourage good eating, sleeping habits, and hand washing for your child. We look forward to having the opportunity to connect with you and share your child’s progress on Thursday, February 15th at parent teacher conferences.

Success For All
During the month of January students have learned all about “Winter Wonders” which includes all the special things that we can do during the winter time like building a snowman, ice skating, and sledding. We learned about animals in the winter and that many animals spend their winter time hibernating somewhere warm. Students also learned how to dress during the winter time to make sure our bodies stay warm! Students had hands-on experiences playing with ice and snow inside the classroom and outside when it was warmer!
Students are currently learning all about the unit “Healthy Me!” We are having fun learning about the tools that doctors and dentists use to keep us healthy, and healthy foods we can eat to keep our bodies feeling good. Exercise is an important part of staying healthy and students are engaged in new fun activities indoors and outdoors that keep their bodies moving.
We enjoyed a visit from Bullard Dentistry where we learned all about being a dentist and how to keep our teeth clean. We will also be having a visit from our school nurse to talk about her job and what she does to help people stay healthy.
Next unit we will be discussing transportation and all the fun vehicles that people use!
Wonderful Words for each unit:
Unit 9 “Winter Wonders”:
winter, freeze, snow, snowflake, sled, down, coat, hibernate, migrate, flock.
Unit 10 “Healthy Me!”:
X-ray, clean, dentist, healthy, vegetable, rule, bicycle, germ, soap, seatbelt.
Reminder: We are asking students to complete a “read and respond” sheet for homework every night. Students and families should watch the homelink video that teachers share on class dojo and read a book every night. Then sign and fill out the weekly “read and respond” sheet and return back to your teacher on Monday’s to earn paw points!
Reading to your student every night encourages language, vocabulary building, concepts of print, and gets our youngest learners ready to be readers one day soon! The videos we share go along with our lessons and unit themes to allow students to have a better understanding of the concepts they are learning throughout the week. Please begin to show your students how important it is to complete your homework and experience this new learning together! Thank you to our families for making this part of your evening routine.
Your child's learning is important to us! Our goal is to have students in school everyday, on time and ready to learn. If your child is sick and needs to miss school for the day, please call the Riverview Attendance line at 920-663-9691. If your child has an appointment, it is best practice to obtain a note from the provider to excuse the absence.
