SAFETY DRILLS CONDUCTED AT WC THIS WEEK!
On Friday, November 5th, Winston Campus Elementary Students participated their 3rd fire drill that was observed by the Palatine Police Department. Students and staff did a GREAT job remaining quiet and calm evacuation the building. This was their best Fire Drill this school year! We continue to drill and practice for every emergency situation.
Safety is our number 1 concerns, the more we practice the more safe we become!
Last Call for Veteran's Day Pictures!
As we look to build student capacity with our Veteran's, help them make connections with our families and community, and give back to our local Veteran's, we are asking you to e-mail Ms. Smith, Principal at Winston Campus Elementary, a picture of a family member or a close friend (preferable in uniform) that is a Veteran. Please include the Veteran's name, branch of military, relationship to student, and student name. We will be using these photos to create a slide show honoring our the military families in our school.
All photo's will be accepted through Friday, November 5th. All photos submitted since the 2019 school year are on file and will be used. They do not need to be resubmitted. Please feel free to give me a call or e-mail me with any questions you may have.
**Any submissions received after Sunday, November 7 will not appear in the slideshow**

Privacy and Student Data Protection
Privacy and student data protection is a key priority for the District. Our three main technology departments (instructional technology, technology, and data services) work to make sure our systems and vendors comply with the requirements of the Student Online Personal Protection Act or SOPPA, which regulates how student information is protected by school districts and education technology vendors they use. Our student privacy web page outlines our privacy related actions and protective measures.
We also employ a number of measures like on-site filtering, student device monitoring, and security tools which protect our network from outside threats. Students participate in digital citizenship curriculum, and staff can employ tools to support students in making good digital choices. Lastly, our district participates in several state and national consortiums, collaborating with other districts to keep informed on best practices and new resources that may support our data privacy policies.

This site was created to reach out to all of my students, teachers, and families and provide a platform of awareness and support.
District 15 is "green" in its approach to distributing community flyers. Rather than sending flyers home with each student via backpack mail, flyers are posted on the D15 E-Flyers page for parents to view or print 24/7.
