Varsity Baseball/Softball
As quickly as the winter sports season came to a close, the varsity softball and baseball teams took to the fields to get as much practice in as they could before their first games. Practices began the week of basketball districts, letting no time go to waste. With the start of the season coming so late, the Cardinals will only have a couple of weeks' worth of practice before their first game of the season this Friday. Both the baseball and softball teams will be heading to Bentley on April 9th for their season opener.
It's still not too late to join the teams! If you are interested in playing varsity baseball or softball, contact Mrs. Brinker or talk to the coaches!
Good luck this season, Cardinals!
Varsity Basketball
by Lily Finnigan
Jack Kaplan scored 23 points; Nate Schenkel, 9; Merrick Maris, 5; Josh Schornak, 3; Dylan Ledford, 2; and Jacob Burgess, 1.
DelCampo went on to say, "It was a special season for our team. We won the league and improved all season. It's a shame it had to end this way. This is a great group of seniors that should be proud of what they accomplished."
Varsity Girls Soccer
Dryden junior Jenna Peters is anticipating great teamwork this season. "I am looking forward to helping others learn and grow throughout the season," Peters said.
This season may have its challenges, Skylar Graham, a Dryden sophomore, knows. She said, "This year I am excited to play. Even if we wear our masks, we are making the best of it." Freshman Audrey Napolitano agreed. "I am excited to finally be able to play in games after the whole COVID outbreak," Napolitano commented. "We all lost seasons and opportunities to play our sports, so I'm glad to be on the team and play," she added.
Juniors Ashley Hickmott and Joanna Livingston, sophomore Jessica Peters, and senior Alexis Schuhrke round out the Dryden additions to the co-op team. Good luck this season!
Junior High Track
Junior High Track is coming up! Their first meet is Wednesday, April 21, which is a quad at Dryden. They will be practicing every day coming up to that, too. In total, the team has 8 meets, so it should make for quite an interesting season!
