Volume 2 ~ Issue 8 ~ Week of September 4, 2023

The Viking Spotlight is the part in my weekly newsletter used to highlight and celebrate our students and staff anytime we can! If you would like your child acknowledged for something they have accomplished, whether on campus or off-campus, please feel free to fill out this google form HERE. I look forward to celebrating our Vikings and all of the great things they are doing!

Message from the Principal 💛

I hope you enjoyed your long weekend! It is a 4 day week this week, so the schedule is a little different, starting with a FULL DAY tomorrow. Review the picture below for more details.

We are officially done with Quarter 1! Seventh graders got their first taste of middle school academics and eighth graders experienced their first quarter as the elders of the campus. As we head into Quarter 2, I want you to reflect on your Progress Report grades. Whether good or bad, the most important thing to take from the Progress Report is "How can I do better?" Utilize the resources available to you NOW so that you can succeed! Our after-school tutoring is available Monday through Thursday and we have two more Saturday Academies this Saturday, 9/9 and next Saturday, 9/16. Take advantage of the help being offered, Vikings!

I'm very excited about our first Viking Shadow Day of the year this Friday! Parents, I hope that you are able to join us! Read the flyer below for more info and click HERE to RSVP!

Thank you to those who attended our first Coffee with the Principal last Thursday! If you weren't able to join us, click HERE to review the presentation.

Are you ready for another Music Monday?? 🎶 Congratulations to Ms. Mohammed's Advisory class for winning last week's Music Monday! Who will be our next winner?!?!

Let's make it a great week, Vikings!!

Take care,

Ms. Scott

Rock Snake Clean Up - Saturday, September 9th 🍂

Youth in Action and the Imperial Beach Arts Bureau will host a clean-up next Saturday, September 9th, from 9 am to 12 pm. We will meet at 518 Lark Wy, Imperial Beach, CA 91932, and make our way to the Rock Snake that leads to the Bayshore Bikeway.

The Rock Snake is a path lined with painted rocks created by young people in Imperial Beach. It is currently covered with overgrown weeds and litter. We need your help to restore this Southbay gem!

By participating in the clean-up, you can earn:

· 4 hours of community service (be sure to get the form from your school counselor)

· A letter of recommendation (an alternate option if you don't need community service hours)
