  • “Your words cut deeper than a knife” (Metaphor)
Explanation - The Language to this stanza is a metaphor because it's comparing words to a knife. This stanza means that the words that this person is saying hurts worse than a knife can cut through the human body. This stanza is just saying that the person's words hurt the author really bad. The author is feeling sad in this stanza because its saying that this person's words hurt him in a verbal way.

Figurative Language #2

  • “Now that I'm without your kisses I'll be needing stitches” (Hyperbole)
Explanation - The Language to this stanza is a hyperbole because he will not really need stitches without her kisses. In which case I think he's saying that that without her kisses he will need to get stitches to seal all of the pain she caused him. The author in this stanza is feeling sad also because without this person's kisses the author will be hurt.

  • “Just like a moth drawn to a flame” (Simile)
Explanation - The Language to this stanza is a simile because it compares a drawn moth to marked flame using like. It's comparing a drawn moth to a flame in which means that the person the author misses is like the light that he fell into because he like a moth in which mothers are drawn to flames. The author in this stanza is feeling controlled because a moth can’t help it but go to the light and that's what he is comparing himself to.
