Get to know your PTC!

Join us in the Salem Heights library for our first "in-person" PTC meeting since distance learning! Thursday May 19th, at 6:00pm.

If you would prefer to join online, Click here to join the meeting.

The PTC organizes and funds a wide variety of programs to support the school and its students. One of the main programs we fund are school field trips. We also encourage community through our family nights, supplement academics with an art literacy program and make sure teachers have the supplies they need in the classroom.

Every project, event and program the PTC does, only happens because of volunteers. We need your help to make these things happen. Until December volunteer opportunities are limited, but we would love to hear from you if you are willing to volunteer when things open back up.

Volunteering can be as much or as little as you want, in whatever you are interested in. You can come a little early and help set-up an event, or you could lead a whole new program, there is something for everyone.

If you are interested feel free to email us admin@salemheightsptc.org, visit our website for more info, find us on Facebook, or join our next meeting May 19th 6:00pm in the Salem Heights Library, or online: Click here to join the meeting

Rascal Reward- Field Day!

Our students have been working this year at showing their "PAWS"! This stands for

  • Practicing Responsibilty
  • Achieving Greatness
  • With Respect
  • Self Control

When staff catch students showing these positive behaviors we recognise them with a PAWS ticket. These are collected in the office toward an all-school Rascal Reward when the tank is full. The reward we are currently working toward an all school Field Day!

SAFEOREGON. FEEL SAFE. BE SAFE.

Safe Oregon – Report confidential safety concerns

Salem-Keizer Public Schools partners with SafeOregon, a confidential tip line that gives students, parents, schools and communities a confidential way to report safety threats or potential acts of violence.

ALL STUDENTS PREPARED TO GRADUATE

In 2010, Oregon adopted higher K-12 standards in English Language Arts and Mathematics to ensure that all students move from a grade to a degree with the academic knowledge and skills necessary for success beyond high school. Because we raise the bar for what we expect students to know and be able to do, we have also changed the way we measure student progress through our state tests.

THINK BEFORE YOU POST!

Recently, schools across the Salem-Keizer School District have experienced an increase in school threats, rumors of threats, and the spread of false information, which has been disrupting our learning environments and creating fear in the community.

MENTAL HEALTH AND SELF-CARE

As we enter the winter months, it's important to check-in and ensure we are taking care of ourselves. SKPS has collected a few important resources to support mental health and self-care strategies. Remember, self-care is not selfish, it is self respect.
