Afternoon everyone,
A quick one from me today after Week 6 has flown by! I would like to start by congratulating the Year 4 gang for their amazing assembly this morning – highly entertaining, funny and well prepared! I would also like to congratulate our first Kindness Values Award winners for 2023. These are very special awards for students who consistently demonstrate our school values here at St Bernie’s. More info is below on how anyone in our community can make a nomination.
On Thursday we had our first P&F meet and greet in the school library which was attended by a relatively small yet enthusiastic group of parents. It was great to catch up, discuss the start to the year, compare parenting stories and have a good chat about P&F priorities for the coming year. A reminder that these meetings are open to everyone and are really relaxed and open conversations. If you would like to come and be a part of it, we would love to see you there. A few Dad’s wouldn’t hurt either, I am severely outnumbered in there!
Next week I have a very busy schedule and will be at CEWA from Monday to Wednesday afternoon. I will be coming back on Tuesday evening to be part of the 1,2,3 Magic Parent Session and I am so glad to see it is going to be well attended with over 50 families signed up. This is something I have used and valued at home with my kids and I look forward to aligning our practice between home and school.

Keeping sick children home
A reminder please to keep children home if they are unwell and only send them back once they are fully recovered.
We have had a number of Gastro cases in the school and we ask that if your child has been off with this, that they only return to school 48 hours after their last episode of vomiting or diarrhoea. Please see information from Health Direct below:
We are holding our first P&F meeting for the year. Please come along and hear about all the amazing community initiatives and fund raisers we have planned for 2023. Everyone is welcome - we really do need your support!

Vipers Basketball Team- Winter Season
Thank you to all the parents who have registered their child’s interest in the Bernies Vipers Basketball Team- Winter Season.
We currently have two full teams!
We have quite a few 2012 born boys who could form another team but we are about 4 players short. This team would also need parent volunteers to coach and manage.
There has also been some interest for a girls team, particularly a 2013/2012 born U12s team.
Last call out, registration for interest will need to be submitted by Tuesday 19th March to
