Be Kind, Work Hard, Be Brave
Note From Principal Graham
Starting Monday, if you would like to walk your child to class you will need to sign in at the front office. Please make sure you bring your driver's license for identification.
Thank you for your patience with our dismissal process. We want to make sure everyone gets home safely. Our school buses have been learning their routes. We have more car riders compared to previous years. Each day we are moving a little bit faster.
Tyler was caught being kind.
Carmen was caught working hard.
Sawyer was caught being kind.

Student Devices: Back To School Care Guide
Dear Lexington District One Families:
We want to share information on how to prepare your student’s Mobile Computing Device for school. Below are links to our device care guide which includes frequently asked questions and explains how to access technology support.
Back to School Device Care Guide (English)
Back to School Device Care Guide (Spanish)
All returning students should bring their device to school everyday. Students who are new to the district will receive a device as soon as the school’s computer technician has one ready.
Thank you and hope you have had a great start to the school year!

Chief Technology and Innovation Officer
Still Need a Car Tag or Walker Tags?
If your child will be a car rider or walker on any given day this year, you will need a car/walker tag for each student. Car tags are available in the front office Monday-Friday 7-4 pm. Also, please throw away all tags from last school year.
If a vehicle does not have a car tag and is in the car line to pick up a student, they will be asked to park and come into the front office with identification to get a car tag. This is for the safety of the student.
Morning Drop-Off / Afternoon Pick-up
Doors open at 7:00 am and students will be dropped off in front of the school at the breezeway. Once busses have dropped off, students can also be dropped off in the bus loop starting at 7:15 am.
The tardy bell rings at 7:40 AM. If arrival is after 7:40, parents will need to park and walk their student(s) in to sign them in with the front office.
AFTER SCHOOL PICK-UP:
Pick-up will occur only in the front loop closest to the building. Cars will enter and exit in the same area (closest to the tennis complex) and be double stacked for dismissal. Signs are posted indicating where traffic will merge into one lane. Please see the diagram below for the traffic flow.
Bus Rider Information
If you would like your student(s) to ride the bus this year, you must complete the transportation registration form found in the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
A form for each child will have to be done. It takes up to 3 days to process bus transportation requests. Parents will be able to see their child's bus number in your PowerSchool Parent Portal.
If your transportation needs changing, or if you move, please log into Parent Portal and make this change. Also, please call the school at (803) 821-0100 to make them aware of transportation changes.

Lunch Account Update
Dear Lexington District One Families:
Some of you may have questions and concerns regarding your student's meal account balances.
As you may recall from my email a few weeks ago, Lexington District One is moving to a new vendor called Titan. We had hoped Titan would be up and running by the first day of school, but it’s taking a little longer than expected.
We want you to know that your recent meal account deposits have been received in www.K12paymentcenter.com and were successfully transferred to Titan this afternoon.
Food Service and Nutrition is working diligently with the new vendor to have Titan’s online payment portal available soon. For now, please continue to deposit money to your student's meal account using k12paymentcenter.com. Your meal account balance will transfer to the new system.
We appreciate your patience and apologize for the inconvenience. Please contact 803-821-1231 if you have any questions.
Kathryn McPhail
Chief Communications Officer
Checks can also be written to Oak Grove Elementary School and can be deposited into their lunch account.

Kindergarten and 1st Grade Parents - Spare Change of Clothing
The beginning of the school year can be a nervous time for young students and often are afraid to ask to use the bathroom. We are asking parents of Kindergarten and 1st grade students to please place a change of clothes in their backpack to have in case of an accident. We may not have a change of clothes available and this helps us to not need to call parents during the school day while providing clothes to change into right away. Thank you for your understanding and assistance.
