Maintain Don't Gain
Congratulations Ashley Ballweg!!
Giving and your Wellbeing
I read up recently that giving experiences rather than gifts is healthier for both the recipient and the giver, and I think that's a really interesting idea. My husband and I do this sometimes and I always remember those gifts more than the boots I really wanted or the newest iPhone. It's an idea I'm trying to spread to my family and friends as we become older and don't get to spend as much time together.
I've also read about how giving to other people is really important for overall wellbeing. This is something I struggle with a little bit more because money is often tight and it's hard! But, working in a soup kitchen, cleaning up a park, or offering to cook someone dinner are ways we can all give without having to spend money.
I attached some links below to think about as we roll into this holiday break!
Upcoming Challenges
1. Fit Bit Walking Challenge - schools will compete against who has the most steps
2. Great North Run - we will challenge ourselves to get the most participants again this year. I'm also working on a fun racing challenge against other schools
3. Fit Falcons - I want to run/walk with you guys again! Last year we had some really great runs together on Friday on the monon - I'm hoping to train with you guys for the Great North Run and other races in the area!
I'm looking forward to some fun competition in the new year!
Have an awesome holiday!
