A Message from Mrs. Ryan & Mrs. Farris

Dear Walker Families,

It's hard to believe that we are entering the month of November. This school year is going by so quickly. Our COVID changes are starting to be our new normal, although we miss seeing our families and miss having our regular school events.

Our school day starts at 7:45. Students are tardy starting at 7:45 am. Student drop-off begins at 7:15 am. To ensure your child is here on time, we recommend dropping off no later than 7:40 am.

Report cards will be coming home on Monday in your child's take-home folder. Our report cards have a new look this year. Instead of individual standards for each subject, your child will have a number that reflects their readiness to meet the end of the year grade-level standards in each subject. If you have any questions or would like to set up a meeting to discuss your child's progress during the first nine weeks, please reach out to your child's teacher or let us know. We would be happy to discuss your child's progress and our plan to support your child going into the second nine weeks.

Please mark your calendars now for the two remote learning days in November. On November 23 & 24th, all students will be working at home, as these are remote learning days. All students will be bringing home their device (iPads or Chromebooks) to work on for remote learning days, but we will also have some fun Thanksgiving activities that will provide you some fun time as a family. No students will be on campus on remote learning days. If you need any help while your child is working remotely, you may contact your child's teacher by email.

Thank you for partnering with us for your child's education. We are here for your child each and every day. If there is a question, concern, or even an idea to share, please reach out to your child's teacher or to either one of us.

Thank you,

Mrs. Lynn Ryan, Principal, lryan@sdale.org

Mrs. Carrie Farris, Assistant Principal, cfarris@sdale.org

A Message from Mrs. Ryan & Mrs. Farris en español
