Fall Parade and Parties
We will begin our Fall Parade at about 2:30 on October 31st. The classroom helpers for the party will come back at 2:10. The map for the parade is attached, but please file out to the hallways when you hear the music. We will begin with kindergarten and make our way around the school.
Once we get back to your classrooms, you can begin your parties. Please make sure that you are aware of any allergy/food restrictions. Please do not assume that the parent helpers and/or Bev handled this. If you see something, say something.
Costume guidelines have been sent out to parents for the past month in my newsletters.
Masks are ok to wear for the parade. Please use the same judgment for the masks as you do for the outfit. If it is gory, bloody, or inappropriate for younger children to see…you have a right to ask them to not wear it for the parade. If you have a child that is scared of Timby the Timberwolf….the parade is probably going to be an issue. Please address this with the child and have them next to you as you walk or we can have a staff member hang out with them during the parade.
A Few Shoutouts!
A BIG Shoutout to the TLC committee for organizing our tailgate today in the staff lounge!
Our TWO Shout Out winners are…
Andrea Kopta (Office) because she is always helping me with things & acts as a buffer with parents
Rachel Swearengin (5th grade) because you make a difference!
Remember to contact Missy Rhodes with your prize choice.
Prizes include: One free soda or snack from vending machine, one free duty, or ability to leave one day of work 15 min early (3:45pm).
Congrats!

Cell Phones
Just a reminder that we should not be on our cell phones when students are present. When we are outside for recess duties, our first priority is the safety of the students. If we are in the classroom and the students are working on something or when we have an assembly or a guest speaker, this is not a time to check Facebook or email from your phone. I know that I have spoken to a few, but want this to be clear to all.
With that said, I do understand that some people use their phones for pictures (like me) and it will be out for that. No problem! If you have a personal issue to attend to though, please contact us and we will cover your class while you handle that.
Thank you!!!
Classroom Newsletters
Interventions on Synergy
Now that interventions should be in full swing, please make sure that you are putting this on synergy when you begin and then update this when you complete it. This should be done for any behavior or academic interventions.
Visitor Check In
Reminder!
If you can do us a big favor:
If you have a person coming in to help in your classroom (senior serving schools, grandparent, mystery reader, speaker, etc,) that is not a parent at our school, please email or let Cristy, Lesley, and Andrea know.
If we don't know that they are coming, we end up having to stop them at the door and not let them in until we confirm with you...which ends up making our visitors a little testy...so if you can give us a heads up, it will go much smoother. Thanks!
Afternoon Dismissal Duty if you are Absent
Reminder!
If you have a dismissal duty:
- If you are absent (and it is something that you have planned or know in advance), please try and contact a floater or someone on your grade level to see if they can cover your duty. I am not comfortable with substitutes doing these duties because they do not know the kids, our routines, and our procedures. I understand that there are certain substitutes that are our regulars. If these people are your substitute, please feel free to use them for these roles. Thank you!
