Free Pizza and Family Building
Youth First is hosting a Zoom virtual parenting class starting February 10th and end on April 21st (excluding the week of Spring Break) from 6-7 pm. It is free to any parent in Morgan County (Martinsville or Mooresville) and participants get a free pizza the day after they attend the class. This class is designed to help strengthen any family unit. Families will receive a certification upon completion as well as a prize.
Kindergarten Information Fair
Come learn more about MSD's seven elementary schools Thursday, February 24 from 5:30-7:00 PM at Martinsville High School Field House.
Kindergarten students must be 5 years old on or before October 1, 2021. Participation in the above events is not required to enroll.

Call the school office at 317-831-2150 as soon as you know your student will not be attending school. Arrangements may be made for homework so that s/he does not fall behind in the classroom. Doctor documentation should be sent in with student(s) when returning to school. A number of unexcused or questionable absences and tardies are reported to our district attendance officer.

School Counselor Week Activities
Febuary 7-11, 2022
Monday: "Your school counselor is part of the “3 Musketeers”
(teachers, parents and school counselor) Students enter a guess of how many 3 Musketeers are in the container by the office. The student with the correct or closest to correct number will win the candy to share with their class.
Tuesday: "School Counselors are the heart of the school"
Each classroom gives a card to Mrs. Heare.
Wednesday: "My school counselor knows I have a bright future.”
Wear neon or brightly colored clothing to school.
Thursday: "My school counselor is on my team."
Students wear their favorite team jersey.
Friday: "When life gives you lemons…we see our School Counselor!” Mrs. Heare will get a special treat.

Seeing Stars!
Many people came out to see Sing 2 with us; we had 85 attendees! Thank you to all of the families who joining us. The movie & Dine to Donate event at Greek’s Pizza earned Brooklyn's PTO more than $400! Also, Super Sports earned the PTO $196 from our November Spirit wear sale. We will use this money toward the purchase of new headphones for each student.

School Wide Title 1
Funding has been made available through School Wide Title 1 Services to Brooklyn Elementary for the purpose of providing students with extra support in reading/language arts and math. This extra support is available for all students at Brooklyn Elementary. Classroom teachers, Title 1 Teachers and instructional aides provide assistance through small group and individualized instruction as children demonstrate a need for support. Please contact your teacher about services your child may receive.
