Hello, Boggess Families,
What a great week we have had here at Boggess! We have been celebrating students and staff all week.
We are looking forward to Red Ribbon Week October 25th -29th. Please see fliers below so that students can participate in the dress up days and other activities we have planned. Thank you PTA and Mrs. Wells for all you have done to make this a fun week.
There are several activities coming up for students to participate in:
Parents please encourage your child to participate in our Veteran’s Day writing Contest: What Veteran’s Day Means to You! We are looking forward to reading these.
PTA is sponsoring the Reflections contest. All entries are due by November 8th.
Thursday, October 26th, students can enjoy Paloween at Plano East from 5:30-7:30

Parents can attend Lunch and Learn sessions hosted by the Parent Education & Engagement Program (PEEP) and PISD Special Education Department. Please see the fliers below for more information regarding session topics, dates and times.
During the month of October we will be addressing anti-bullying and Red Ribbon Week through the SEL competencies of Responsible Decision-Making/Self-Management (Drug Prevention) and Relationship Skills/Social Awareness (Belonging). Please see the calendar below that addresses coping skills and kindness activities that all Plano ISD students, families, and staff can participate in throughout the entire month of October.

Volunteer!
Approved volunteers are able to sign up for volunteer opportunities directly through the VOLY platform at plano.voly.org. Volunteers should be sure to select Boggess on their application in order to be eligible for volunteer opportunities. School selections can also be changed by the volunteer by logging into their account at any time.
Counselor Corner Update Late Sept-Early Oct.
Red Ribbon Week is October 25th-29th! The national theme this year is Drug-Free Looks Like Me!! Boggess is adding a magical twist this year and I hope staff, students, and the community enjoys it! See the dress-up days flyer below. 5th grade will be able to attend a presentation given by a PISD police officer and his K-9 companion in their classrooms! The entire school will view a magical presentation by James Wand, courtesy of our fabulous PTA! Let’s make this the Happiest Week on Earth!

If your child is going to be late, absent, or out of town please call the main school phone
469-752-4000 and choose option #3. (Remember to send a doctor’s note when you child is late because of an appointment.) It’s important that we know this information before the day begins, so we can locate missing children as soon as possible. The safety of the children is our utmost priority!
Parent Education & Engagement Program “Lunch and Learn” Sessions for Parents
The Parent Education & Engagement Program (PEEP) will host 30-minute ”Lunch and Learn” parent sessions for Plano ISD families on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:15 p.m.-12:45 p.m. on Facebook Live. This week and next week’s focus will be "UnSelfie: Why Empathetic Kids Succeed in Our All-About Me World." Please log on this Tuesday and Thursday to join Plano ISD Parent Educators and other parents to explore evidence-based, positive parenting strategies as a community.

Special Education Lunch and Learn
The special education department will continue to offer Lunch and Learn sessions for parents this school year. Please help us share these opportunities with families who have children receiving special education services. Our first session will be held on October 19th at 12:15 and information can be found through this link: Lunch and Learn "Social Skills 24/7". The virtual session is being provided by Partners Resource Network and will provide families with strategies for teaching social skills in the home. Parents can register using the link provided.
