Job Shadow Experience
Senior, Cassidy Marlow, was able to do two job shadow experiences right here at Genoa High School. Here's what Cassidy has to say about her shadows:
- "Getting to do what a teacher does instead of just watching was really fun."
- "Mr. Larsen made the whole process easy. He was very helpful."
- "I recommend doing a job shadow because it's a great way to get a feel for what you want to do instead of going to college blindly."
If you're interested in doing a job shadow, please fill out this form or see Mr. Larsen in the Comet Success Center.

From the Desk of Mr. Ohlemacher
This week we make time for family and friends and to give thanks for the blessings in our life.
While the holidays are a time for celebration they can also bring holiday stress. Personally, I take time to be very intentional to look for all of the great things in my life. As the holiday season sets in and I feel a little overwhelmed I like to take a minute to reflect on all the blessings life offers.
Mr. Ohlemacher's Personal Top 5 Thankful List:
1. Family: I have the best, most supportive family anyone could ask for. I have a Dad who still ends every phone call with I love you and a mother who reminds me how proud she is, a wife who is endlessly supportive of all that I do and three teenage kids who keep life interesting & entertaining.
2. Friends: I have group of friends who help to keep me feeling young. Maybe it's because when we're together we act like we're in 7th grade... I don't know, but I appreciate and love them.
3. Health: Aside from the bumps, bruises and aches associated with a younger more athletic life I'm blessed with good health and feel great everyday.
4. My Job: I have the best job in the world and I actually smile calling it a "job." Between our students, staff and a community which supports its children I'm surrounded by genuinely good people every single day. Each makes it a joy to come to "work."
5. Mentors: I'm grateful to have the ability to see the positive in most every situation. I'm not sure how, but my cup always looks half full instead of half empty. Does this mean I don't want more or think things can be better. Of course not, I'm human, but somewhere along the line there were enough people in my life to let me know that "in the end everything will be OK." These mentors were typically family members, teachers and coaches. From them I've learned that if everything's not OK, that's OK, it just means it's not the end.
As always,
GO COMETS & GO BLUE!!!
