A Winter Note from Mrs. Russo
If you are starting the holiday break a little early, please inform Mrs. Kelly (sally.kelly@chatham-nj.org) and Mrs. Timpanaro (margaret.timpanaro@chatham-nj.org), so we can input the absence correctly.
Also, we play outside when the temperature is 18 degrees and above. We do factor in the wind chill before we make a decision. Starting today, the students will need snow boots and pants to play and walk in the snow.
I hope that the holidays with your children are filled with little to do, laughter and the making of memories! See you in 2018!
Cheryl

What are the proficiency levels on the Standards-Based Report Card?Different students progress at different rates. As a result, standards may be met in varying amounts of time with varying amounts of teacher support.
- Proficiency levels reflect the goals of the current trimester and are not indicators of linear performance from trimester to trimester.
- Proficiency levels of “3” and “2” reflect that a student is working within grade-level expectations.
- A “3” is the expected goal for students. This indicates that he/she is meeting the academic standards for that grade level.
- A “4” demonstrates mastery of a specific skill and the ability to apply the skill in ways that extend the standard and show greater depth of knowledge.
- A “1” indicates that a student’s performance is below grade-level standards and may require dialogue with the teacher.
