Faith Corner
One day a man with leprosy came to Jesus. The man knelt down before Jesus and said, "If you will, you can make me clean." Jesus looked at the man and he felt love and compassion for him. He reached out his hand and touched the man and said, "I am willing, be clean." Immediately, the leprosy left the man and he was cured.
When we think of things that are contagious, we usually think of bad things, like coughs and colds and scary diseases. But today's story tells us that there is something even more powerful and contagious than scary diseases -- God's healing love. Jesus was filled with God's healing love, he was not afraid of the man's disease. Because Jesus wasn't afraid, Jesus could reach out and share God's healing love with the man. That love was contagious, the man "caught" it and was made well because of it. This is the good news for today: The most powerful and contagious thing in the world is God's healing love. The more we follow Jesus and learn how to receive God's healing love, the more we'll be able to share this most powerful, contagious thing in the world.
Dear Father, you sent your Son to bring hope to the hopeless. When we find ourselves in a hopeless situation, we will put our hope and trust in him.
In Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.

EICS Parent Assurance Survey 2021-22
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As part of the Elk Island Catholic School Assurance process, we would like to invite you to participate in the linked survey. Results from this survey will be used to inform planning at the school and divisional level for the 2021/2022 school year. This survey complements and is provided to all grade 4-12 students, all staff, and all parents in our division.
If you have children in multiple schools, we ask that you complete one survey for each individual school. If you have a child who has attended St. Isidore Learning Centre full time for remote learning, identify your school as St. Isidore Learning Centre.
If you have a child in grade 4, 7, or 10, you may receive a survey from Alberta Education. If so, we would encourage you to complete both surveys.
The survey will remain open until Thursday, February 18, 2021.
If you have questions, please contact us at 780-467-8896, or toll free at 1-800-996-9982.
Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback.
Meet Our Parent Council Secretary - Laura Lee
Welcome to PAC Corner!
My name is Laura Lee. I am the Secretary for the Parent/Student Council this year. This is my first year on Council. I have three children attending Holy Redeemer in grades 1, 3 and 8. We moved to the area a short three and a half years ago and we absolutely love it!
I decided to participate in the PAC meetings to meet other parents and learn about what’s happening at the school. Parents and teachers attend the meetings and meetings usually last about 90 minutes. At every meeting, I am amazed at the great ideas parents bring to the table regarding things like fundraisers, activities for the students and how to provide hot lunch during Covid (spoiler alert: this year is a challenge). Do you have any ideas you would like to share with us? If you do or if you just want to attend as a spectator, please join us at our next virtual meeting on February 16 at 6:30 p.m.
