Titan Tidbits-Staff Edition
Updates (as of now)
General Announcements:
Titan Family,
How am I writing to you and it's already July!?! It's hard to believe that June has already come and gone! At this point, I'd love to tell you that I had information to share about the 20-21 school year. Unfortunately, I do not. I am hoping to know more soon and as I've said, as soon as I know news to share, I will.
Current Summer Cleaning Schedule for TCES:
July 24th-July 26th-Floor Crews
July 21st-July 23rd-Deep Cleaning Crew
*I realize this is late in the summer but we are scheduled for later because of all of the staff moves both internally and externally
*I am not sure how they are going to tackle this so I will update you on specifics as to when you can/cannot come in during this time. I am hoping this will not impact the entire school each of these days.
If you are new to TCES:
-Please send administration a text message when you would like to move your items in.
Please let us know if you have questions, concerns, and/or comments

TCES July Hours
The 2020-2021 school year might start differently, but as educators the anticipation and excitement of a new school will always be the same! Part of that excitement is setting up your classroom! We know that working in your classrooms is an important part of designing the learning environment for your new students each year. Creating a welcoming classroom climate is something you all do so well. You are welcome to begin decorating walls and organizing your classroom materials. Hold off on arranging/moving furniture until we have official guidelines from the district on how to maximize the floor space in each classroom in reference to social distancing.
When can I start working in my classroom?!
Fridays, the school will be closed to teachers. This will allow for cleaning days.
We will coordinate and open on some weekends but we must still go in through the front.
With cases in York County and in SC on the rise, YOU MUST sign in and out. If an outbreak occurs, us knowing when you were at school is vital for tracing and cleaning purposes.
Thank you for helping us with this as we navigate this new normal.
Security and Safety Updates
2.) There is an additional badge door being put in between the gang bathrooms and Tammy.
3.) I've asked for a wall to be put in between the two adult bathrooms in the main office. This will help with safety as the general public (if allowed in and for the time being, FLYERS staff once created, will use).
4.) A door in Sharlene's office that will help her get straight to the closet behind Hope's desk. This will allow her to assist quickly if Hope gets bombarded with visitors at any time (again, asked for this prior to COVID-19).
5.) We are also getting additional security cameras!
I am not sure when any of these changes are taking places but we are thankful that our district has agreed to put in these items to help keep us safe and secure.
*Side note: If you notice, the maintenance department finished our final area between the top and bottom parking lot by adding in pine needles and plants and trees. We truly have a beautiful campus!
FLYERS at TCES
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How does that impact us?
FLYERS is at 4 buildings this summer and TCES is one of those 4. The 4 Principals, the District Office, and and DHEC have worked with them to ensure that they are being extremely cautious.
I wanted to let you know because they will be at our schools M-F each week beginning July 6 and this will run until August.
The areas they will be in are the gym (split into two sections), the cafeteria (split into two sections), and the stage (not Donna's office). The students will use the gang restrooms near the cafe. The adults will use the restrooms at the back of the Media Center. They are also allowed to use the copy room and will be wiping down machines, tables, etc. after each use.
Parents of the campers will not be allowed into the school.
The program has given us specifics with what will happen if a camper or counselor become infected with COVID-19. If you would like to review their policies, expectations, etc. feel free to contact me.
There will be 44 campers and up to 6 counselors, much small numbers than in the past.
Happy Birthday Titans!
