Below you will find what is happening in Spanish class and links to activities and videos to practice at home.
Making Molas
Molas is a traditional pattern made in Panama (Central America) by the indigenous people of the area. If you travel to Panama make sure and ask for Molas!
Calendar is an essential part of our classes.
K-6 grade students review calendar daily. Students sing songs about days of the week and months. 6th graders make videos about weather for our daily calendar routine.
Picasso and colors
K-3 graders are practicing colors while learning about Picasso's art work. Students made "guitarras" using Picasso's Guitarra as inspiration.
Grades K-3
K-3 students reviewed colors while learning about Picasso's life and art work. Students made a guitar using Picasso's Guitarra as inspiration for their creation.
Grades 4-5
4th and 5th graders continue to practice clothing/shopping vocabulary and phrases. In addition, they also created art using Picasso inspired figures and a dice.
6th Grade
6th grade is reviewing all 7 units learned this school year, in addition to learning about Spanish artist like Miro, Picasso, D.Rivera and F.Botero.
Creating art inspired by Joan Miro
6th graders created pictures inspired by Spanish artist Joan Miro.
Cascarones
Cascarones are a tradition in Mexico during Easter. They are confetti eggs (Thanks Parker!)
Easter Alfrombras from Guatemala
Guatemala celebrates Easter by making carpets out of sawdust! 6th graders made an alfombra with different mediums.
Culture and Art
Friday we learned a little about Panama and created Molas.
