Audit, Security, and Access to Criminal History
This training, provided by the Michigan State Police Noncriminal Justice Agency (NCJA), is to provide guidance on applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and policy regarding access, storage, use, dissemination, destruction, and to ensure the security, confidentiality, and integrity of Criminal History Record Information (CHRI). Training will include guidance for newly established procedures in which background checks may be performed, an in-depth look at the controls necessary for the digital retention of CHRI, and how to access and use the Criminal History Record Internet Subscription Service (CHRISS) system.
Who Needs This Training?
Training is for Michigan K-12 schools, traditional, nonpublic, and public school academy; who request individuals to complete a state and federal fingerprint-based Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) background check for the purpose of employment determinations and/or volunteer placement. Our newly revised NCJA Audit, Security, and Access to Criminal History Trainings are required in order to gain access to our new online Criminal History Record Internet Subscription Service (CHRISS).
