Cedar Rock Dairy farewell
It is with a sad heart, that I let you all know, Sam and Lisa from Cedar Rock Dairy will no longer be with us at the market. It has nothing to do with the website, new store, his products, or my relationship with him. I've been blessed to work with Sam for over 6 years!
The 2 hour drive back and forth has put some wear on him and the truck and also sales have been pretty much flat. Starting this week, he is passing on the reigns to Kevin Campbell of The Good Shepherd Family Farm ( https://www.localharvest.org/the-good-shepherd-family-farm-M29705 ) in McDonough, Georgia.
GLASS JARS - please pick up your jars this Wednesday
New Farm: The Good Shepherd Family Farm
I am so happy to welcome Kevin Campbell of The Good Shepherd Family Farm in McDonough, GA to our family of growers and producers.
I've worked with I've worked with Kevin in the past and I'm excited to work with him again in a bigger capacity. Please welcome him and his family to our market!
Info about the farm:
We are a local farm in Mcdonough. We milk old fashioned jersey cows once a day. We believe in keeping things as natural as God intended. Thus, our dairy is grass based and our milk is hormone and antibiotic free. We milk the cows and immediately put the milk into a cooling tank which brings the milk to 35’ very quickly, preserving all vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and probiotics which the Lord intended for maximum health and taste. If kept cold at all times our milk will last two weeks.
Our milk is delicious and natural, the way milk is supposed to be. Our milk comes from our old fashioned Jersey cows and is full fat and full of nutrition. It is unpasteurized and therefore retains all probiotics, enzymes, vitamins, and minerals. It is also unhomogenized so the cream rises to the top. Our milk will last two weeks if you make sure to keep it cold at all times. It is hormone and antibiotic free. In accordance with state law, we offer this milk for your pets.

THANK YOU!
Special thanks this week to my husband Corey, Sherry and Gary Morris from HoneyBerry Naturals, Chuck, Daisy at Leilani's Garden, Rene from My Daily Bread, who that came out on Tuesday to help with new store clean up. We knocked it out in about an hour! Thanks for volunteering your time and elbow grease!
What's going on with the Eggs?
Why do we have less eggs on the market?
- shorter days - less daylight = less eggs
- cold weather - hens' bodily resources go into keeping her warm rather than to producing eggs.
- Autumn is molting season - chickens will molt and grow new feathers and produce less eggs
We'll have a new farm on board in December that will bring us more eggs! We should be back to normal by February.
Holiday Schedule
Christmas Day - CLOSED*
New Years Day - CLOSED*
*Fresh Harvest will deliver to market pick up location, but baskets will be outside. I'll let you know what day those 2 weeks once I find out.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Since I'm not sure when the new store will open up I went ahead a created Volunteer schedule until end of December. Please click link below if you can help!
Please consider volunteering during market pick up. I can’t run the market without your help! Shifts are 1 hour long and go by really fast. It's a great opportunity to meet and help your fellow members!
Thank you Melanie M, Gwen, Melanie S, Chuck, and Ela for volunteering last Wednesday! We couldn't have the co-op without our amazing volunteers!!
If you are interested in volunteering but unsure exactly what that involves, please let Nora know and she will do a quick "volunteer orientation" with you on a day/time that you pick up.
