Schedule for the week

Big picture

Block Scheduling for Distance Learning

The District will implement a later DL start time for secondary students of 8:25 AM - 3:10 PM, with a 45-minute lunch period. A later start time while in DL will offer benefits for our students. Given current transportation scenarios, we will not be able to continue a later start time if the District goes to in-person learning.

Big picture
Students will attend periods 1-4 on day 1 and 5-8 on day 2. (Please note that period 1 is Willow Creek's Advisory period. Students will not meet the entire hour). We will be incorporating a 4 day rotation for A and B day course offerings.

Also note that students will not be meeting with teachers during Target classes. This is a study hall type class. However, help is available via Google Meets using code: WCtarget.

This week’s Second Step® Lessons at Middle School

6th Grade - Making Goals Specific

In this week’s lesson, your child will learn how to identify and set achievable goals by making them specific.

Question

Ask your child to tell you about a specific goal they’re interested in working toward and what makes it specific.

7th Grade - Identifying Roadblocks

In this week’s lesson, your child will identify and distinguish between internal and external obstacles (or “roadblocks”) that can get in their way when working toward goals.

Question

Tell your child about a roadblock you encountered when you were working toward a goal, and if you had control over the roadblock.

8th Grade - Harnessing My Strengths

In this week’s lesson, your child will choose something they’d like to get better at and think about how they could apply their unique strengths to do that.

Question

Help your child make a list of strengths they have. Ask your child about how they could use these to get better at a new skill.

Parenteen Connect

ParenTeenConnect.org is a free resource for parents that provides expert advice and practical tools for dealing with real parent-teen issues.

School Technology

Please continue to let us know if there are questions about technology that are coming up. We are here to help. The easiest way to get help is to either ask a teacher or call the main office at (507) 328-5900.

Please know that utilizing home/personal technology for school is an option if needed. There is not a District requirement that families use the school iPad for classes. At this time, District web filtering is not available off of the school network. Some families have asked if using a home device with their own parental apps would be OK, and it certainly is.

Free and Reduced Lunch Application

There is no need to fill out a paper application this year. Please click the picture below to access a digital form.
