What are Empty Calorie Foods?
Empty calorie foods are processed foods containing added fat and sugar. Nutritionally empty calorie foods are poor choices. Empty calorie foods are more readily available compared to nutrient dense foods. Empty calories foods have longer shelf life, but have poor effects on health. These food may cause weight gain.
