Zero
To some he's good, but to a lot others, Jackson is bad!
Andrew Jackson is a zero because:
Spoils System
To aid his supporters or allies, Andrew Jackson promised them a job on the government even though they might not be the most qualified for the job. This is a problem because, young America needed good leaders to help pave the way to growth.
Nullification Crisis
Since South Carolina was nullifying the tariffs placed on them, Andrew Jackson passed the Force Bill and forced the US Army to make them pay their taxes.
Trail of Tears
During the Trail of Tears, Jackson passed the Indian Removal Act and forced many peaceful Native Americans off of their land and onto reservations. He even went against the Supreme Courts ruling on not doing that.
Andrew Jackson: Good, Evil and the Presidency
Depicted as a King
Andrew Jackson was depicted as a king in this political cartoon because many people said he abused his powers in government, making the artist draw him as a king or a tyrant.
