JTMS Counseling Newsletter
March 29, 2021
SEL Day was Friday, March 26th!
Goodbye Marking Period Three, Hello Spring Break! But first....
- check your grades in the student portal
- check in with your teachers through email or office hours if you have any work that you are still completing or need to find out what is still being accepted
- reflect on the marking period- what are you proud of? what could you have done differently?
- set a goal and a game plan for marking period 4 to end the year strong... not sure how to do that? email your counselor to schedule a Google Meet, we'd be happy to work on a strategy with you!
- have a restful, relaxing, and enjoyable spring break... be safe!
THREE MONTHS OF GIVING
As a Reminder...
The JTMS School Counseling Department kicked off a 'Three Months of Giving' initiative starting with the month of March, and we're moving into our new month of April's collection next. April's initiative is 'Students Supporting Seniors', benefitting Jefferson Township Senior Services. Check out the poster below for details!
The intent is to do something positive and refocus our energy to help others. In a time when we are surrounded with stress and uncertainty, we are attempting to bring students and staff together in a common mission to provide assistance to the Jefferson community.
We would like to remind families that local services are available to those in need, and we are encouraging a 'Give What You Can, Take What You Need' approach. We do not want anyone to feel obligated to give who may not be able to, and want to encourage those who may need it to take advantage of the local resources available to the community.
There will be drop boxes provided at entrances (Main Entrance and Blue Pass Door) where students may leave their donations so that items are not circulating throughout the school building.
Thank you in advance for any contributions you might be able to make.... the agencies in Jefferson Township are very grateful to have our assistance!
For those wanting to plan ahead, here is our next and final month's initiative:
May: 'Providing for Pets' for the New Hope Food Pantry (United Methodist Church)
APRIL: 'Students Supporting Seniors'
