What is it? - A mammogram is an x-ray of the breast to detect and evaluate breast changes.
Why?- To find any irregular changes or problems with the breast.
Who should have this procedure?- Women who hit puberty should have mammograms very regularly especially women 50 or older.
When?- Once a year or if you notice irregular changes
What are normal results of the procedure?- Normal results are breast tissue with no signs of mass or calcification.
What are the implications of abnormal results?- Finding masses or lumps, Calcification spots, or benign spots.
