Collegiate Academy at TCC Northeast
September 8, 2019
A Message from the Director
Parents and Students,
In light of the events at the past week in our district, I want assure parents that Collegiate Academy works closely with TCC NE Police to provide the most secure campus possible. We are fortunate to have many officers roaming our campus at all times that are trained how to handle emergency situations. Our doors are locked in our building at all times The most important reminder for students is to never open a locked door for anyone! If we work together we can be safer.
I am excited about our Open House and 5 Year Anniversary Celebration on Monday, September 23! Phoenix Family, we need your help! We need approximately 60 parent/guardian/adult volunteers to host this event. We are planning for over 400 in attendance! We need volunteers to set up (20), grill and serve (20), and clean-up (20). If you are willing to serve, please contact Yvonne Aguirre at 817 515-6775 or email@example.com. Thanks in advance!
Reminder: HMS bus will pick up and drop in the front of CHHS beginning in the morning, Monday, September 9! Times will not change!
Together we will make a difference!

SCHOOL COUNSELOR CHRONICLES
So far I'm about halfway through the senior meetings and for the most part the seniors that I've met with have done a great job during their time at CA! I should be done with the senior meetings by the end of this week. All I ask is that at the end of the week talk to your student and see if they can tell you what their graduation plan looks like, and if they can't then we can set up a time to discuss!
Junior 4 Year Plan Meetings:
I'll start meeting with Juniors the week of September 16th and I should be able to get through them by the end of September. If you have questions about your students 4 year plan or the classes they are (or should be) taking now or in the future please feel free to reach out and we can talk through it!
Sophomore 4 Year Plan Meetings:
I'll be meeting with the Sophomores to discuss their Spring 2020 classes and beyond during the first few weeks of October so that when classes open at the end of October. Prices will start to go up Sept 13 $10. and will be $12 the day of the event.
Homecoming Dance Donations
We would like to ask for families to help us out with the dance by donating food/drinks/decorations. Please sign-up through the Sign-Up Genius. We would appreciate any help you can provide! You/your student can drop off the donations at the front desk throughout the next 2 weeks. Please email Mrs. Waters at email@example.com if you have any questions.
TSI Testing Policy
Next week students who have not yet passed all 3 TSI tests will receive a hard copy of the TSI Testing policy for the 2019-2020 school. This policy will be distributed in the Pathways classes. We are asking parents and guardians to please review the hard copy of the testing policy with their student, sign it, and send it back to school with your student. Signed policies may be given to your student’s Pathways teacher. The policy will help students focus on the tests that they need at different stages of their associate degree. If you have any questions about your student’s progress in completing the Reading, Writing, or Math TSI test, please email Kristinia Haney at firstname.lastname@example.org

Notes from the Attendance office:
Contact Amy Silva-Adams for Attendance questions.
If a student must be absent from school a parent/guardian should call attendance or send an email each day to report the absence. I will also accept a note from the parent/guardian the day the student returns to school.
If a student is missing for a doctor's appointment, it is very important to always get a note from the doctor and present it when signing into school or returning the following day. You or your physician may email the doctor's note directly to me.
