Where are they Grown?
- need hotter/humid environment, sunny
- desired temperature is 60-80 degrees Fahrenheit
- hard freezes stop growth
- takes 70-90 until harvest
Pests
- poor competitors with weeds
- cultivation very important
- use spot spraying and hand pulling for weeds
- pests are different kinds of worms, aphids, maggots, grasshoppers, and beetles
- use insecticides, foliar insecticide, and seed treatments for insects
Havesting
- harvested in autumn and early winter
- harvested by digging them out of the ground
