From Your Friends at Framingham Parks and Recreation
Winter is here Framingham!
Although this Winter may not look like years past, your Parks & Recreation Department has put together some safe and exciting programming.
Some programs will be offered in-person, others will be offered on-line/virtually. For our in-person classes, we have strict COVID procedures in place, oftentimes more robust than the state recommends. We have very limited class sizes and have also limited our in-person class registration to Framingham Residents Only. (Non-Residents may participate in our on-line/virtual offerings.)
Please make sure you read each program description carefully. We may have had to make adjustments to our “typical” programs in order to accommodate our current situation.
We encourage you to check out all of our current programs at www.FraminghamRec.com
Some of our Winter Programs include:
- First Aid & CPR Class
- Robotics Classes
- Ice Skating Lessons
- Coding & Programming Classes
- Babysitter Safety Training
- Cooking Classes
- Special Olympics Programming
- Mindfulness & Meditation Classes
- Yoga Classes
- Ballet Classes
- And More!
Our programs are continually being updated – so check back often!
We have also joined forces with the Framingham Department of Public Works (DPW) to create a socially distant scavenger hunt to help locate their lost Toy Soldiers and Snow People! To join in the fun, please visit the Scavenger Hunt website for more information!
Remember – gift certificates for our programs make wonderful gifts & stocking stuffers! Call the office for more information!
As always, if you have any questions, comments, or program ideas, please contact our office at parks.recreation@framinghamma.gov or 508-532-5960.
Happy Holidays!
Stay Healthy & Be Well!
Sincerely,
Your Parks & Recreation Department

A HOLIDAY MYSTERY!
FRAMINGHAM’S TOY SOLDIERS AND SNOW PEOPLE ARE LOST
PARTICIPATE IN A SOCIALLY DISTANT SCAVENGER HUNT TO HELP FIND THEM AND WIN PRIZES
Avoid cabin fever this holiday season! The City of Framingham Department of Public Works (DPW) and the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Division have collaborated to create a socially distant scavenger hunt to help locate their lost Toy Soldiers and Snow People.
After a long quarantine nap, the Toy Soldiers and Snow People have come out of hibernation and are wandering around the City. We need your help finding them, to make sure they are ready to celebrate the holidays and ring in the new year!
Pieces of the scavenger hunt map will be released randomly throughout the month of December on the Scavenger Hunt Web Page, as well as the DPW and Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Division’s social media pages, with their approximate locations. Four map sections total will be released throughout the month.
Families should use the map as a guide to locate a combined total of approximately 58 Toy Soldiers and Snow People! Make sure to keep track of their locations!
Once you have located our winter friends, submit your Scavenger Hunt Entry Form on the City website for a chance to win one of four prizes (two $25 gift cards to Target and two $25 credits towards a Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Division Program Registration)! Entries must be received no later than Noon on Wednesday, December 30.
Please wait to submit your scavenger hunt entry card once we have released all four pieces of the map!
