Lawrenceburg ASAP Update - Cohort 3
Fall 2017 Ivy Tech Community College
ASAP Kicks Off Fall Term by Volunteering at the Red Wolf Sanctuary
After spending the first week of fall term in class, ASAP students were excited to spend their first Friday of the term outdoors at the Red Wolf Sanctuary in Rising Sun! The students are pictured with Paul Strasser, who founded the Sanctuary in 1979. ASAP spent the day clearing trails of brush and debris for the upcoming 5K fundraiser hosted by the Sanctuary. The non-profit sanctuary relies on monetary donations to maintain their facility and care for the animals there. Interested in touring? Contact the Sanctuary at (812) 438-2306. Want to run the 5K there on September 16th? Check out their Facebook page for more information.

Students spent the day riding Mystic Timbers, enjoying the water park, playing games, and drinking unlimited quantities of Coca Cola. Students began their summer classes on Monday, June 5th. SEI Community Garden's mission is to provide an inclusive environment for all members of the community to work together toward improving food and social insecurities, physical and emotional wellness, and nutritional and ecological awareness. Want to get involved? Contact Shyra Tedesco at stedesco@ivytech.edu. Interested in supporting SEI Community Garden? Study Session Over Lunch
Ben, Logan, Cara, Josh, Rachel, and Zachery spending their lunch break studying for an upcoming Ethics test. Group study sessions before tests are just one perk of attending classes as a cohort. Discussing topics as a group helps prepare for written exam questions where you will need to articulate an answer in your own words.
