Just Keep Swimming
I love how life kind of forces us to pay attention to the fine print. It's always so easy to get caught up in our daily routine. Almost to a point where we become mama robots. Rise, run around like crazy doing all that we do while the daylight is upon us, finally take a small break to eat, and then bedtime. Next day, do it all over again. It's sometimes so difficult to just take a brief moment to just live in the moment. To thank God for allowing us those continuous moments. Oddly enough we all too often don't get to that point until we're backed against a wall/ in a corner. Regardless of what things we're faced with, we just have to keep going. But we have to make sure that we don't allow ourselves to get lost in the daily routine. There's a way to Just Keep Swimming without drowning. I guess for lack of a better term, we'll call it A Mama Time-Out. We as women tend to be hardest on ourselves, usually because we're just not taking time for ourselves. But then that's really my favorite part, because you have to make sure that you have others watching out for you. Your support system is key. If they have to throw you a life preserver, that's fine. You just have to make sure that you grab hold of it and don't let go.
That's one of the great things about this awesome group of women that we have. We are truly there for one another, in the good and bad times. A phone call, text, or email away.
Ok, who's ready to go swimming? :-)
Romans 5:3; "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance."

Patience is defined as the ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay. It also happens to be one of my weaknesses. God knew this was a weakness, for sure, since he decided to bless me with four young children! And yes, I like to joke about it because I sometimes find God’s teachings to be quite humorous. I also thank Him every single day for caring enough about me, that He would entrust someone like me with such blessings.
2015 marked a new chapter in my life, as I began the journey of being a single mother. As a working mother, whose life has always demanded structure & organization, my patience was quickly wearing thin. One night, after putting my kids to bed, I began to walk through my now empty & quiet home. I saw my life had quickly become chaotic, out of control, and nobody there to help. I fell to my knees and just began praying. As I prayed, my favorite scripture kept coming to mind, Galatians 6:9, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up".
God’s timing is always perfect. And just when I feel like I am about to lose control or want to give up, I will always find Him standing there with me. He reminds me that every time I face a trial, He is there to help bring me through it and grow through it. I’m able to breathe a sigh of relief and focus on more important things, like braiding my daughter’s hair or teaching my boys to fish!

Teaching Our Children Not To Fear:
1. Teach children to praise God
Praising God in every circumstance instantly turns our attention off of ourselves and our fears, and onto the only solid and reliable One upon whom we can count.
2. Play scripture out loud
When there is a chronic fear hanging heavy in your home, filling the air with scripture can work wonders for restoring peace.
3. Help children memorize scriptures
The bible directs us to teach our children the scriptures!
4. Post scriptures around the house
The bathroom mirror and the kitchen windowsill seem to be our two favorite places to post scripture.
5. Sing scripture songs that deal with fear and courage
Music makes such an impact on kids. On adults too! More than once a scripture has in song given me strength!
Prayer Corner
Overcoming fear.
Lord,Thank you in advance for the power, strength and, sound mind you have given me! I don’t want to live in any fear, and pray that when the feeling of fear comes over me, I will trust that you will lead me to act my way into self-control and power. I pray that I can step into the life you have blessed me with, and that I will be the mom you have called me to be. I ask that you make my confidence and spiritual strength shine so bright that it envelopes my children so that they too can walk in your confidence and strength. I rebuke any and all fear in my home in your name God. I can overcome anything that comes my way, with you as my stronghold and my savior. I So Love you and I Bless Your Name! Amen.
