Coach's Corner
TELPAS, SIOP, ESL, ELL.... Acronyms we know well. As we continue our work to meet the needs of our ELL learners, Patricia Cantu, Director of Second Language Education, will be coming to meet with each grade level team to share more information on our work. She will be discussing why we are focusing so intently on our ELL learners and why it is so important. She will meet with teams during planning on the following days/times. We will meet in the science lab. Please mark your calendars.

SMORES in my SMORE
Our 4th Grade Girls ASP STEM Club has been working on building thermal ovens. They were able to test them out this week and cook smores. Looks delicious! Now, they will assess the success of their ovens, make necessary adjustments, and try again. The continuous improvement cycle at it's best! Thanks Ms. Merwald and Ms. Alarcon for working with these very capable ladies.
The Biggest Loser
I wanted to reach out to see if there would be interest in a little friendly competition. If you would be interested in a weight loss challenge where you could win COLD, HARD, CASH, then sign up on the form below. It will cost between $10-$20 to compete-those participating can decide how much we will chip in. Then, the winner or top three biggest losers will take home the money! Are you up for the challenge?? Who could beat me???

TELPAS Calibration
Thank you to all of our teachers for your efforts on the TELPAS Calibration. Everyone took the test very seriously using PLD's and notes. We thank you for you dedication to the process. We had 75% success rate on the first try. We know we will reach 100% soon. Our teachers are mentally strong enough to tackle this beast called TELPAS Calibration!!
