New Thinking for New Times has already started to take place in the Media Center at HCMS. Students completed their STAR Test Assessments for Quarter One in September 2022. Pamphlets were provided to parents on Parent Night to inform them about the AR & Star Program at HCMS. Students are excited about their Media & Literacy path for the new school year.

HCMS Celebrated Digital Citizenship Week October 17-21, 2022. Students did a Presentation entitled: Who Are You Talking to Online? Their presentation excluded a series of Q's & A's:

1. What are of the benefits and risks of taking to people online?

2. Why should you consider how well you know someone before sharing somethin with them?

3. What are some examples of situations that might cause a red flag feeling?

4. What are some strategies to help you stay sage when chatting with others online?

Staff Members participated in a Staff Development learning about their Clear Touch Interactive Panels with Mrs. Artis. Dr. Wilson along with the 8th Grade Team Members are excited to show off their new panel knowledge in the classroom.

Congratulations to STAR READERS Rainier Bradshaw & Paris Norman both who are 6th Graders in Mrs. Blackwell's ELA Class. Both students have achieved approximately 200 AR points.
