Valley View Student-Athletes Help Spread Christmas Cheer

Valley View student-athletes are making sure that one family has a merry Christmas. The students rallied together to purchase gifts and collect donations for a family of four and delivered the items to Abigail's Arms. All together the students delivered 39 bags of Christmas gifts and an envelope of gift cards. We would like to thank all the families who donated to help this family have a Great Christmas! Go Eagles!

Meet Landon Hendrix

Hi, my name is Landon Hendrix. I'm the new Head Boys Basketball Coach and Geometry teacher at Valley View. This is my 8th year in education. I spent the last 7 years at Ponder coaching basketball and cross country. I taught 7th-grade math and a computer coding class while I was at Ponder. I received my degree in Physics from Austin College in 2013. I also played baseball all four years. I graduated High School from Ponder in 2009.

My wife Danielle and I have two wonderful children, Maddox who turns 3 in January, and Grant who is 4 months old. They are all very excited to be at Valley View! Go Eagles!

Meet Gary Schnitker

I am Gary Schnitker, the Ag Mechanics and FFA adviser. This school year is my 20th year teaching and my first year at Valley View. I received my teaching degree from Tarleton State University.

My wife, Erin, is a Dyslexia teacher at S&S Elementary School, and my daughters Starlyn and Emma attend school there also. I enjoy showing livestock with my family and watching my girls play basketball and volleyball. My daughters exhibit hogs and goats.

I am excited about teaching at Valley View and have enjoyed my first semester here. The students are hard-working and interested in learning.

Advanced Animal Science Students

The Valley View Advanced Animal Science Class has been hard at work this semester. This week the entire class received their Beef Quality Assurance Certification. Through the program, students learned about animal health products, feedstuffs, feed additives and medications, care and husbandry practices, and other core practices.

Onstott's Design Wins Local Christmas Contest

The 4th-grade students participated in a contest for the Valley View Chamber of Commerce. The contest asked each student to design a Christmas-themed window for our Valley View Square. We had lots of talent within the entries, but Korbey Onstott's design was selected for a store-front window. We are so proud of her!

FFA Members Create A Livestock Show for Elementary

On December 10, our 1st and 2nd-grade students participated in a mini livestock show at the Bob Andrew Agricultural Sciences Center. The event provided FFA members with the opportunity to interact with young students, exposing them to FFA and educating them on how to raise show animals.
