Have you had an exceptional experience with a teacher?

The Deer Valley Education Foundation's Teacher of the Year and Rookie 1st Year Teacher of the Year Programs are designed to celebrate and honor the contributions of Deer Valley School District's teachers - we want to celebrate and spotlight those exceptionally skilled and dedicated teachers who have gained the respect and admiration of students, parents, and co-workers and who have the superior ability to help students achieve.

Our District is blessed with many, many teachers who possess all these qualities. Please honor these teachers by nominating them for Teacher of the Year or Rookie of the Year!

FOR TEACHER OF THE YEAR: Candidates must HAVE COMPLETED their 4th year of teaching in the Deer Valley Unified School District by the end of May 2021 in order to be considered for Teacher of the Year.

FOR ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Candidates must be in their 1st year of teaching in order to be considered for Rookie of the Year.

Nominations need to be returned to Marie Brennan, DVEF, District Office, or e-mailed to by 4PM on April 23rd, 2021. The nomination form is attached. Forms will also be posted on the DVEF web site at

Please take some time to complete our district survey.

“We don't see things as they are, we see things as we are." - Anais Nin

Motto: I can see things from many different points of view.

Talking points at home...

Think about how we get what we expect. In other words, if I think cleaning my room is a waste of time, then I will not enjoy the time I spend cleaning my room. However, if I think cleaning my room gives me a nice place to hang out, I will enjoy the process more and do a better job. What area of your life do you think would improve by changing your perspective?
