If I Could Write a Letter to Me...
Have you heard Brad Paisley's song, "Letter to Me?" The song is about a grown man reflecting back on his youth and wishing he could give his younger self advice on how to make it through different situations. Of course when you hear it, you can't help but go back to those high school days and think what you would have done differently. But, then I always come back to the conclusion that I wouldn't change anything at all because those times shaped who I was to become. In my opinion, things happen for a reason, and, good or bad, it gives me pause to reflect on the moment and where I need to go from that point forward.
So, why am I talking about this song? Well, we are in the short rows. We can see the end of the tunnel, and very soon another year will be in the books. What a perfect time to reflect on the good, the bad, and the ugly! If you could write a letter to yourself from this past school year, what would you say? What would you encourage yourself to do? Not do? Avoid? Go after? Just as the song talks about not being able to see past Friday night, we, as educators, have a difficult time seeing past the next day (or even the next class) when everything is coming at us all at once. Over the next few weeks I encourage us all to take time to reflect on the year. What would your letter say?

~Great Spirit Week and Pep Rally!
~Kudos to all our academics and athletes and their coaches this year!
~Hold tight as we inch closer to testing season! It's sort of like allergy season--- watery eyes, sniffles, and sleepy --- but without the pollen or mold!!!!!!
All my best,
