Carrie PItts (Davis), Principal, Robertson Elementary
Congratulations Carrie Pitts (Davis), Principal, Robertson Elementary
The Yakima School District is proud to announce the hiring of Carrie Pitts as Principal of Robertson Elementary School beginning July 1, 2022.
Carrie grew up in a small, rural farming community in eastern Washington and later graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. She then moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she taught fourth grade and first grade. After returning to Washington, Carrie taught first grade for one year in Tukwilla before moving to Yakima to begin serving as the Instructional Facilitator at Robertson Elementary.
In 2014, Carrie obtained certification as a National Board Certified Teacher and then helped to co-facilitate the National Board Cohort in the Yakima School District to help other teachers working to gain their certification. While engaging in this work and serving as an Instructional Facilitator, she had many opportunities to share her knowledge and lead professional development focused on helping students. Carrie then pursued her Master’s in Educational Leadership in order to continue to learn and find additional ways to support students, teachers, and families as a school administrator. Carrie was then hired to be the assistant principal at Robertson Elementary, a position she has held for the last 2 years
Carrie is passionate about learning and sharing her learning with others. She seeks to support educators in using instructional practices which support students with their learning. Carrie is committed to serving students, families, and educators in the Yakima School District. She believes all students can succeed and that all children deserve access to quality education. She strives to give students in Yakima the best opportunity for a successful education.
Carrie is recently married and next year will be going by Mrs. Davis. Carrie and her husband have made Yakima home and enjoy getting outside as much as possible to experience all the Yakima Valley has to offer. They enjoy camping, exploring new destinations around the region, and spending time with family. Carrie is looking forward to continuing to serve the community of Yakima.
