Don't miss: AGC Community Meeting Dec. 8 (TONIGHT)!
The Aledo Growth Committee - a community committee that’s studying data to potentially recommend an upcoming bond program to Aledo ISD Trustees - hosted the first AGC Community Meeting on Tuesday and will host a second community meetings tonight (Thursday), and you are invited!
Beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8 at the Aledo ISD Administration Building, the community is invited to learn more about Aledo ISD’s facility needs, demographics, finances, planning for growth and more. Community members will receive an update from community co-chairs Dan Reilley and Kelli Stumbo and then will work in small groups to provide feedback and ask questions to AGC members.
We very strongly encourage you to attend this meeting! They will be identical, so it is not necessary to attend both nights.

Cross Country Accolades Roll In!
Big congratulations to cross country senior Sydney Tillotson for being named a Legacy All-Star for Cross Country by the Texas Girls Coaches Association. This is a very prestigious honor, as only 20 Cross Country runners (5A & 6A combined) who are seniors are chosen throughout the State. Sydney was chosen based on her GPA and rank, extracurricular activities and cross country success.
Also congratulations to Elizabeth Griffin and Molly Garrison who have been named to the 2022-2023 All-State Cross Country Team by the Texas Girls Coaches Association! Liz placed 21st at State with a time of 19:11.1, and Molly placed 41st with a time of 19:38.7.
AHS Robotics Continues to Have Success!
All 4 of the Aledo Robotics teams (6566, 9161, 13811, 20325) had a strong start to the 22-23 robotics season recently at WG Thomas Coliseum in Birdville ISD. Team 20325 scored first place in its league. Their robot was capable of picking up cones and placing them on poles of varying heights in a playing field with 3 other robots competing for the same poles. These 60 students, under the guidance of Mrs. Reynolds, Mr. Christensen and Mr. Bruton, have worked as engineers, coders, drivers, welders, photographers, programmers, outreach coordinators, writers, and graphic designers to take the four team robots from ideas to successful competitors in under 8 weeks.
On Nov. 19, the Aledo Robotics Teams competed in its second league meet and had an exciting tournament for all 4 robotics teams. Team 20325 earned another 1st place win, and Team 9161 earned 3rd place!

It's OPM Week in P2!
This week in P2, it's OPM - Supporting others when they struggle week!
What exactly does OPM mean and how can you talk to your student about it? Positive relationships can help people become happier, healthier and more resilient. People who have strong positive relationships do five things consistently (that are the five practices of the Other People Mindset):
- Recognize the good in other people
- Recognize that everything you say or do affects other people
- Support others when they struggle
- Cheer people on when they succeed
- Remain present when giving people your attention.
People who have a strong Other People Mindset are able to build and maintain strong, positive relationships with others. Ask your student about OPM Week!
OPM TABLE TALK for your FAMILY
Grades Pre-K-2: How have you seen people struggle? What are some ways that you could help them?
Grades 3-5: How have you experienced help from others?
Grades 6-8: What are some things that you are doing for others?
Grades 9-12: Is it sometimes difficult to accept help from others?
Bearcat Care Clinics Available for Students, Staff
The end of the year and colder weather often means illnesses going around and, with that, busy doctors offices and clinics. Please remember that the Aledo ISD is proud to offer Bearcat Care Clinics at each campus to our students and employees as a convenient option when getting into your primary care doctor or going to a stand alone clinic isn’t an option for your family. We know Bearcat Care Clinics do not replace our local pediatricians, and we are so grateful for them! Bearcat Care instead is a partnership with the Parker County Hospital District where each school nurse’s clinic is set up with a medical cart similar to what you would find in a hospital setting. This Bearcat Care setup essentially turns our school nurse offices into minor care clinics able to facilitate telemedicine visits with family doctors or nurse practitioners as well as making flu, strep, and COVID testing available (all with parent consent, of course) right at school.
Parents are even able to join the telemedicine visit with the nurse and doctor from the convenience of home or work or elsewhere. If a Bearcat Care visit determines that kids or staff may need to go home or get some prescription medicine, the prescription can be called in to your chosen pharmacy to be picked up as soon as possible and eliminate additional stops or appointments when not feeling well!
Access to Bearcat Care is for any student or staff member. Registration is necessary before a visit can take place and we encourage all parents to register your students right away to avoid any delays in having to register in a pinch when your child may be sick and needing a quick telemedicine visit. Registration also must occur each year, so if you registered last year, you will need to update your registration this year. AISD staff are also encouraged to register now to be ready later. It only takes a few minutes!
Registration for Bearcat Care can be done quickly and easily here; simply scroll down and click ENROLL NOW!
