Reminders
1. It's Social Work Appreciation Week! Let's show our Social Work Team some extra love this week. Thank you for all you do.
2. Teachers, please remind scholars that National Honor Society applications are due Tuesday, April 2nd by the end of the day. Also, there were some mishaps with applications, please tell the 6th graders to make sure their applications say NJHS on it and not NEHS.
3. All report card sign in sheets should have been submitted on Saturday. Please make contact with any parents who did not attend and arrange a conference in the coming weeks. Please keep in mind that report cards are NOT to be sent home with scholars without hosting a parent/teacher conference.
Thank you to all staff who attended our March Mathness/PSSA Parent Pep Rally
We would like to officially welcome two new members to the GLA Family.
Mr. Ralph Cobb, Maintenance Assistant
Ms. Sabrina Callender, Spectrum Services
Teaching and Learning Corner
Ready Usage: We are up significantly from last week! Congratulations on pushing instructional usage this past week. Keep up the push in the remaining weeks before PSSA.
Look Fors:
Instructional: PSSA Strategies: As we draw closer and closer to stat testing, ensure the following:
- Daily update of your classroom count-down calendar
- Integration of PSSA Do Now questions daily
- Teach scholars to use their tools (calculators, formula sheets, writer check-lists, etc)
Cultural: Positive Framing: As we redirect scholars throughout the day, consider how we are framing. Instead of “sit alone or next to someone you won’t be tempted to talk to.” Try “think about what you can do to help yourself concentrate.”
PSSA Important Dates!
PSSA HYPE Assembly: Friday, April 5th
PSSA Pump Up Breakfast: Monday, April 15th
