This year, the Sioux Falls School District is celebrating 150 Years Strong! A tree represents new hope, sustained growth, and a strong foundation with which to build. A new Elm tree was planted at Terry Redlin in honor of all staff, students, and staff that have worked to build a strong community at Terry Redlin in the past, present, and future. Together We SOAR!

4th grade learns Flag Etiquette
In early October, 4th graders had the opportunity to learn about the flag from a member of the VFW. They learned about the meaning of the stars, stripes, and colors on the flag, as well as the significance of different flag ceremonies and songs. The students were then given the opportunity to practice folding the flag into the honorary triangular shape. They learned it takes precision and teamwork to complete this task, and it’s not as easy as it looks!
The 4th graders will have the responsibility of raising the flag each morning outside the front office, and lowering the flag at the end of the day for the rest of the school year.
5th Grade Safety Patrol Celebration
5th grade students celebrate completing one full quarter of participating in safety patrol! Students who committed to coming every morning and afternoon to help others cross the street were rewarded with donuts, juice, and gift cards; provided by the Sioux Falls Fire Department.
