Lost and Found

Cold weather is here, and we have a lot of jackets (among other items) in the Lost and Found. If your child is missing his/her jacket, or lunchbox, please have them stop by the Lost and Found bin located in the corner of the cafeteria. Please make sure you label jackets, lunchboxes, and backpacks with your child's name so we can reunite lost items with their owners.

Counselor's Corner

Hello LVES Families!

Would you or someone you know like to be a mentor for a young child? A mentor is a caring, compassionate adult who chooses to devote time to a young person, offering them support, guidance, and encouragement. If you can volunteer 30 minutes to an hour per week, you can change a life by helping a child build a solid foundation of values, establish goals, improve their academic and life skills, while developing their self-esteem and confidence. This could include having lunch with them, reading a book with them, playing a game, or just talking. If you would like more information, please go to our LVISD website and look for the “Partners in Education Mentoring Program” page (http://www.lagovistaisd.net/page/curr.ins_Mentor), or contact me at amy_sexton@lagovista.txed.net, (512) 267-8300 ext. 4504.

Does your child need a coat? The 2018 Free Coats for Kids Distribution Day is on Saturday, December 8 from 8:00 am-3:00 pm at the Palmer Events Center in Austin, 900 Barton Springs Road. For more information, go to: www.jlaustin.org/coats.

Thank you and stay warm! :)
