Your Gattis Family Misses Your Kids!

Please read through this e-mail for clarification of the information that has been sent out and links for free engaging activities.

I hope that you have been able to enjoy spending time with your family! This has certainly been the strangest spring break ever!

I would normally be sending out a can't wait to see you tomorrow Gazette, but this one is a little different.

We know that not really having an end to this crisis in sight and not having your children in school can be difficult and trying in so many ways.

At this point, the district says that students will return to school on Monday, April 6th. Until that time teachers will not be required to send lessons. They may send you links to activities to help you keep your kids engaged. There are a ton of free fun activities and virtual field trips available online.

As we head into the next two weeks, I want to assure you that we DO NOT expect you to become your child(ren)'s teacher. This is Please take time to reconnect, play outside together, play games together, read together, and go on virtual field trips. Be creative!

On Monday, March 23rd, you will be able to find learning activities to maintain and extend students’ learning on the District’s website. The link to access student learning will also be posted on the District’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Hard copy packets will be available at breakfast and lunch service locations. These will NOT be required or graded, the district has put these together to help keep your kids engaged and extend their learning.

ALL children under the age of 19 are eligible to receive breakfast and lunch at 11 locations around the District beginning Monday, March 23. Meals will be provided Monday through Friday and children must be present to receive a meal. We will be serving curbside breakfast from 8 – 9 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. PLEASE DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR CARS - this truly is a drive-through meal pick-up.

Callison Elementary, 1750 Thompson Trail, Round Rock is the closest school to Gattis that is serving breakfast and lunch. Please follow the traffic patterns and be patient as this is something that has not been done before.
