Writing:The student will attempt to write first name using legible letters in proper sequence (without the help of a model). The student independently will use letters to make words or parts of words
Math:The student will counts forward to 20, identifies numerals 1-8, demonstrates one to one correspondence counting objects to 5 and identifies sets of objects to 3 (without counting).
Science: The student will observe, investigate, describe, and discuss position and motion of objects. Also will leran about sources of energy including light, heat, and electricity
Social Studies: The student will initiate problem-solving strategies and seeks adult help when necessary and demonstrate empathy and caring for others.
Lectura:El tema sera ¡Puedo construir! ¡Puedo crear! El estudiante estara expuesto a temas con los terminos de construccion, maquinas y herramientas, cosas que puedo construir y crear. Recuerde leerle a su hij@ por lo menos 15 minutos diarios.
Escritura:El estudiante tratara de escribir su nombre correctamente y en secuencia (sin ayuda de un modelo) Tambien el estudiante usara letras independientemente para hacer palabras o partes de palabras.
Matematicas:El estudiante contara hacia adelante hasta 20, identificara los numeros del 1 al 8, demostrara correspondencia uno a uno contando hasta 5 objetos e identificara grupos de hasta 3 objetos (sin contar).
Ciencias:El estudiante observara, investigara, describira y discutira las posiciones y movimientos de objetos al igual que las fuentes de energia incluyendo luz, calor y electricidad.
Estudios Sociales: El estudiante usara estrategias para resolver problemas y buscara la ayuda del adulto cuando sea necesario y demostrara empatia y cuidado hacia otros.
Kindergarten
Reading: In the month of February, Kindergarteners will be learning about expository and research text. They will discuss the author’s purpose for writing text.
Writing: Kindergarten students will continue to work on personal narrative writing. They will add more details to their drawings and to their writing.
Math: Students will learn to count by 2s, 5s, and 10s. They will use manipulatives and pictorial models to help them skip count.
Science: Kindergarteners will be exploring the interactions between magnets and various materials. They will use magnets to find out if a material is a metal.
Social Studies: Students will be learning about where they live. They will also learn about other places that are different from where they live.
Lectura: En el mes de Febrero, los estudiantes de Kinder aprenderan sobre texto expositivo y texto de investigacion. Ellos discutiran el proposito del autor.
Escritura: Los estudiantes de Kinder continuaran trabajando en escritura de narrativos personales. Ellos añadaran detalles a sus dibujos y a su escritura.

1st Grade
Welcome to amazing first grade. It is difficult to believe we are already in the third grading period. It is very nice to as a teacher our students are learning and improving their skills every content area.
In Reading: we will continue to learn the elements of fiction and nonfiction text, retelling, main idea and details, and author´s purpose. Also, student needs to read with more fluency, better comprehension, and wide vocabulary. In writing, this time of the year most of students are able to write independently at least 3-5 sentences. We will continue to learn more about the steps of writing process. Students should not forget to start their sentences with a capital letter, leaving space between the words, and a period at the end of each sentences.
In Math: students will learn about length, and compare and count numbers till 40. Also they will learn addition and subtraction numbers to 40. Don’t forget to practice mental math, and real life word problems with your kids.
In Science: students will learn patterns of Movement, and they are going to investigate about Plant parts, Living and non Living things and Interdependency
In Social Studies: we will learn about the importance of family and community beliefs, customs, language, and traditions and our classes are preparing the activity for Black History Month.
Bienvenidos al increíble primer grado. Es difícil creer que ya estamos en el tercer período de calificaciones. Es muy gratificante para nosotros los maestro ver que nuestros estudiantes aprendan y mejoren sus habilidades en cada área de contenido.
En Lectura: seguiremos aprendiendo los elementos del texto de ficción y no ficción, el recuento, la idea principal y los detalles, y el propósito del autor. Además, los estudiantes necesitan leer con más fluidez, mejor comprensión y amplio vocabulario. En escritura, en esta época del año, la mayoría de los estudiantes pueden escribir de forma independiente al menos de 3 a 5 oraciones. Continuaremos aprendiendo más sobre los pasos del proceso de escritura. Los estudiantes no deben olvidar comenzar sus oraciones con una letra mayúscula, dejando espacio entre las palabras y un punto al final de cada oración.
En matemáticas: los estudiantes aprenderán sobre longitud, a comparar y contar números hasta 40. También aprenderán números de suma y resta hasta 40. No olviden practicar matemática mental y problemas razonados de la vida real con sus hijos.
En ciencias: los estudiantes van a aprender sobre los patrones en moviento y van a investigar sobre las partes de las plantas, los seres vivos y no vivos y sobre interdependencia entre los animales.
En estudios sociales: aprenderemos sobre la importancia de las creencias, costumbres, idioma y tradiciones de la familia y la comunidad. Además, nuestras clases están preparando una actividad para la celebración del Mes de la Herencia Afroamericana.
2nd Grade
In the month of February, second-grade teachers and students will continue to expand on all of the wonderful things they have learned this school year.
Reading: Students will read the fictional text, make inferences and draw conclusions about the structure and elements of fiction and provide evidence from the text to support their understanding.
Writing: Students will continue using the writing process to compose expository and persuasive writing
Math: Students will continue solving multiplication and division word problems
Science: Students will identify the basic needs of plants and animals
Social Studies: Students will explain how people depend on the physical environment and natural resources to meet basic needs
En el mes de febrero, los maestros y estudiantes de segundo grado continuarán expandiendo todas las cosas maravillosas que han aprendido este año escolar.

4th Grade
Reading: Students be working in describing and advertising something to be promoted, how to persuade or convince somebody to buy or sell an item.
Writing: Students will go through the writing process using the steps; circle map, partial flow map, flee map, rough draft, and final draft. We will add to our texts adjectives, pronouns, and conjunctions.
Math: Students will understand how to represent numbers through 1, 000,000,000 and decimals to the hundredths using expanded notation and numerals; Relate decimals to fractions that name tenth and hundredths.
Science: Students will learn about patterns of movement and organisms and environments.
Social Studies: Students will continue to learn about Texas and The civil war; Cattle and farming.
Lectura: Los estudiantes van a aprender acerca de cómo describir y promocionar un producto y persuadir o convencer a alguien de venderlo o comprarlo.
Escritura: Los estudiantes van a practicar el proceso de escritura para elaborar una historia; mapa circular, mapa secuencial, mapa de planeación, borrador y el escrito final.
Matemáticas: Los estudiantes van a aprender y entender como representar un números hasta 1,000,000,000 y los números decimales. También como se relacionan los números decimales con las fracciones de los décimos y los centésimos.
Ciencias Naturales: Los estudiantes aprenderán y entenderán los diferentes patrones de movimiento. También estudiarán los diferentes tipos de organismos y su medio ambiente.
Estudios Sociales: Los alumnos continuaran aprendiendo acerca de la guerra civil de Texas, así como del ganado y la agricultura en Texas.
Counselors Corner
PE
This month in PE, students will be working on a basketball unit that involves the following skills: dribbling and passing. The instructional focus is on deliberate practice, reciting skill cues when appropriate, skill refinement and control. The goal for the students is to demonstrate basketball skill cues with few reminders. Ways to challenge some students will be by adding a walk or a jog to the routine with students dribbling in general space. Students are going to learn types of dribbling (high, low), passes (chest, bounce), and strategies (1v1, 2v2, 3v3) hand to eye coordination and team building skills. Game ON!
