Students on Campus Update: As shared at the PUSD Board Meeting on Jan. 15, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) provided updated school reopening guidelines that do not allow PUSD middle and high schools to reopen while the county is in the Purple Tier. Based on the new CDPH guidelines, our middle and high schools can now only reopen five days after San Diego County returns to the Red Tier. This is due to the CDPH’s new definition of “reopened or opened”. BMMS is able to welcome back some special education classes as well as some small groups. We are working on securing the staffing necessary to welcome back some small groups. We will contact those families when we are able to welcome them back.
Homeroom Digital Citizenship Lesson: This week in Homeroom, students engaged in a lesson about Digital Drama. The lesson is aimed at helping students develop more responsible habits in the digital world. Here is a link to the lesson if you want to continue the conversation at home LINK.
Parent University Slides Presentation: Last week, we held a Parent University Making the most of Middle and High School. Here is a link to the presentation:

Try Something New: I made a video for students that encourages them to keep their brains healthy by trying to learn a new skill. Students can email me (scorso@powayusd.com) by Feb 1 a video of them trying something new. Here’s a LINK to my video.
I wish your family all my best,

BMMS Academy Information Night for New Families: At the current time, our plan is to continue with the BMMS Academy for the 2021-2022 school year by accepting a limited number of students as long as we're able to raise the funds necessary to keep our program running. In planning for the 2021-2022 school year, we are looking to raise $90,000 which would enable us to bring in another class of BMMS Academy sixth grade students. Interest Forms will be available to the students/parents attending this virtual information night.
