"A Message From the Principal"

Dear Parent(s) and Riverview Rams:

We are excited to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year at Riverview Gardens High School. This school year represents a time of change, new ways of learning and a commitment to the safety and health of our high school scholars and staff as we embark upon a 100% virtual instruction platform for the first quarter. We look forward to working with each of you as a member of our Ram-ily in our efforts to maintain high standards of excellence for all scholars. We are committed to student achievement and understand that studies show that parental involvement in a student's education is a vital part of that success. Our high school students will be required to meet the following expectations:

  • Log in to meet with your teachers every day, on time, and prepared to learn.
  • Be respectful of the staff, students, teachers, and administrators of Riverview Gardens High School while participating in virtual instruction and on-site activities.
  • Stay focused on your education by participating in virtual instruction via Edgenuity online and the teacher’s Google class meetings, completing all assignments, and preparing for tests. This is your time to shine. Many mistakes can be made during your high school years, stay on task so that you won’t fall behind. Remember credits matter and are essential in your quest for graduation.
  • Reach out to your Counselor or Social Worker for support.
  • Check your district assigned email for any notices from your teacher.
  • Always strive to do better than your best!

As your Principal, I am committed to your success and will do whatever it takes to assist you as you enter this next phase of your life. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call. Our team can be reached at: 314-869-4700. Thank you in advance for your help in making this year one for academic and personal success. We will get through this together! We are RAMS Strong!

Remote Learning Tips for Students

Several students around the U.S. were asked to share their Remote Learning tips with others. Here are some of the tips borrowed from PBS News Hour Extra that students shared:

1. Be patient with yourself – getting frustrated will just make you dread your school work even more. Take breaks every now and then and just breathe.

2. Don’t get behind – even though you are doing work at home it doesn’t mean you have unlimited time. Keep up with your work.

3. Ask teachers questions – your teachers are there to help. They want to help you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you feel confused!

In addition to the above tips, check out the following helpful tools provided below.
